San Diego, the eighth largest city in the United States and where
California was born, is one of the premier golf areas in the country and
in the world. The beautiful year-round temperate weather provides perfect
days for golf in all four seasons. The variety in design includes layouts
to satisfy the taste of any golfer. Desert courses are typical of East
County, whereas tree-lined and links courses are predominant closer to the
coast. Golf courses carved along canyons are characterized by dramatic
changes in elevation, and the daily variations of the wind make club selection and playability even more difficult.
